Query Builder for Emergency Department Encounter Queries by Geography - CrudeRate

Overview

The Montana Hospital Discharge Data System recently signed an agreement with the Montana Hospital Association to access emergency department (ED) data from participating Montana providers. With this agreement, Montana joins the more than 25 states that already have ED data systems.

Getting Started

  • What year grouping do you want to select? Default is single years, most recent year.

  • Enter any Diagnosis Code or E-code. Default is all diagnoses. Note: (1) Codes on the same line will be combined, when you display or group by diagnosis. Codes on separate lines will have separate counts; (2) You must have entered codes in the diagnosis/e-code fields, if you choose to display or group-by diagnosis.






  • Choose Any Procedure Code. Default is all procedures. (Note: (1) Codes on the same line will be combined, when you display or group by procedure. Codes on separate lines will have separate counts; (2) You must have entered codes in the procedure fields, if you choose to display or group-by procedure.






  • Select sets of age groupings. Default is all ages.

  • Would you like to include only males or only females in the results? Default includes both sexes.

  • Select residency. (Default includes Montana residents only.)

  • Select geographic area(s), (Default is all Montana Health Planning Regions.)

The data and information provided through the MT-IBIS Query System are intended to support any individuals or entities engaged in activities designed solely to enhance the well-being of a specific community, which may include the State. Activities include informing evidence-based decision making in the State to plan and improve health service delivery, evaluate health care interventions and systems, and inform health policy decisions. Other uses are not permissible.

  1. Use the data for statistical reporting and analysis only.
  2. Avoid any attempt to identify or contact individual(s) represented in the MT-IBIS query system data.
  3. Avoid disclosure or use of the identity of any individual(s) discovered inadvertently.
  4. Avoid linkage of MT-IBIS query system data with other data that, after linkage, might allow identification of an individual represented in the MT-IBIS query system data.
  5. Use appropriate safeguards to prevent the inappropriate use or disclosure of individual(s) represented in the data, including when disclosing MT-IBIS Query System data to others.
  6. Report IMMEDIATELY any inadvertent or intentional identity disclosures or violations of this agreement of which I become aware to the Office of Epidemiology and Scientific Support, Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services.
